28th Annual Pensacola Crawfish Festival

Got an ahnvee (craving) for some of dat boudin?  Then ya’ll have got to pass by the 28^th Annual Pensacola Crawfish Festival!

Axe anyone you know, it’s the festival anticipated by thousands, and you’ll boude’ (be angry) if you miss it. This year it will be held on May 4^th, 5^th and 6^th at Bartram Park in downtown Pensacola, and is sponsored by Coastal Bank & Trust.  16,000 pounds of crawfish, straight from the home country of Louisiana will be boiled, making it one of the largest crawfish boils in the entire state of Florida.

Come hungry! There will be a huge variety of dishes, including jambalaya, etouffee, boudin, crawfish po-boys crawfish pie, red beans and rice, and much, much more. There will also be traditional fare like hot dogs and hamburgers…for you non-cajun types.

For the brave few among you, there will be the Cat Country 98.7 7^th annual Crawfish Eating contest.  NO WIMPS ALLOWED!  The competition will feature a kids division (free), adult division ($5) and a CrawDADDY division ($10). Contestants will compete for prizes.

This festival features some of the best Cajun, Zydeco, Swamp Pop, southern rock and blues music you’ll ever hear. Our Master of Ceremonies, Rex Broussard, will entertain with his Evolution of Dance…and other acts include headliners like Dwayne Dopsie, Honey Island Swamp Band and Wayne Toups. In addition to the great food, the Pensacola Runners Association will be sponsoring the Fiesta 5K and 10K Run/Walk which will start at 7:30 a. m. on Saturday, May 5^th. The 10K runners will start at the Pensacola State College and the 5K runners will start at Scott Street and 12^th Avenue. Both groups will finish at Seville Square. And make sure bring the youngins’! There will be lots of activities especially for them. The children’s area, sponsored by COX, will feature plenty of hands on arts, crafts, face painting, balloons and the NASCRAW crawfish races.

Bring the family enjoy the day or the weekend at the Pensacola Crawfish Festival. Daily admission is $5 daily or $10 for a weekend pass for adults. Children 12 and under get in free.
