Start the New Year by giving. Some four legged friends need you!

I have some close friends that volunteer for the CP Cairn Rescue group.  They are hard working individuals that go to puppy mills and auctions and take as many of the dogs as they can and place them in safe homes.  This takes alot of money ... especially since almost all of the dogs required alot of medical treatment when they are rescued.

This group is currently involved in a 'contest' for donations.  The group that receives the most number of donations (not the overall dollar amount) will have Yahoo match the donations.  They reeeeeeally need the money in order to continue saving these dogs from a life of cruelty and suffering.  PLEASE - the minimum donation is $10.00 (and is tax deductable) and the contest ends TOMORROW!  Please, please, please give!  They are currently in 2nd place ... but only by a few donations.

I believe that this is a worthy goal.  I wish them the best in their endeavors.  I currently am involved in supporting poodle rescue and have learned that I can only spread so far.  It would be nice if everyone would support a rescue group.

Great going on sending out this information, Deirdre!  My husband and myself (dare I say "used to" - somtimes it seems we still are - lol) run a rescue for exotic animals in our "spare" time and I have got to tell you it is really a tough and heart breaking job.  Takes very special people with intense passion to keep it going and, as we know, very few are publically funded so money is an issue.

All animals need to be loved and taken care of and when it comes to rescue organizations, we all need to help a bit.  After all, other humans are the reason these animals need us whether it is because they figured they would get rich by breeding them, or thought that cute puppy or kitten (or whatever) was cool or cute but somehow did not like it when it grew up.  Animals don't care if they are cute or cool - they just want to be loved.

I will for sure send some donations and other people their way.  I believe in their cause and thank you for bringing it to my attention!
