On May 1st every year I have taken time to revisit a childhood memory. In the little white house across the street was the sweetest old lady that you ever did see. For some reason on Mayday we found it great fun to pack up little paper cups with goodies and hang them on her door. Part of the fun was ringing the bell and running away before we were caught.
Unfortunately, I think that we were caught just about every year. Little old lady next door would open the door and yelp a ditty at us and make us run all the faster. It was one of the best games we ever played.
I couldn't visit everyone that I loved today to leave behind a little sunshine, but we did drop by a few. Nothing like teaching the kids to share a smile for a great reason!
If you didn't happen to have a Mayday basket waiting for you today let this be yours. May your May be filled with sunshine and happiness. May your may be filled with pleasant surprises. And, may your May be filled with some spark and sizzle!
And, if you have a great Mayday story... I'd love to hear it.
