Cell phones and telemarketers

Good morning everyone-In the last few days I have been getting out of state phone calls on my cell and when I pick it up they won't say anything. That irritates me no end because even after 2 yrs Mom will still get telemarketers calls on her home phone which is a landline. Since I am the one that answers the phone 99% of the time

I am NOT very cordial to these folks as they aren't getting the message. It makes me angry because they target older folks BIG TIME and before I moved in Mom would give them her bank info or credit card info over the phone. HOW MANY times do YOU have to tell people YOU are on a DO NOT CALL list before they get the message, Many of these calls to Mom are from charities wanting money.

I would think they would have to follow the same rules as others. Also a credit card company keeps calling when Mom doesn't have a credit card anymore. I told them that and there were going to tell the supervisors that so there wouldn't be anymore but obviously that didn't happen.

Yesterday after about the 4th or 5th call to my cell phone I googled the number of the do not call registry number and I found this:

It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON. It takes about 20 seconds!

Now since this said it was on Facebook in Dec 2011. I am not sure when Cell phones went public. Maybe it has taken 5 months to start getting calls for me. I am not sure but I am passing it along to you if you are getting them and haven't registered with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
