I’m Gonna be Late for Dinner Again

big smileLast night I called Heather and let her know I was going to be late for dinner. I just got a call to do a drive by BPO and I was going to take the order. I live in Teton Valley Idaho (ID)and the servicer wanted me to do a broker price opinion in Grovertown Indiana (IN).

 

The servicer’s accent made me wonder if she was a virtual assistant from somewhere outside of the US. Not that everyone in the US would know that ID is for Idaho and IN is for Indiana. In fact I am not sure I know the abbreviation for all 50 states.

What’s the abbreviation for your state?!

What's the problem, Harley??  Of course, that was said with tongue in cheek.  Yes, we all get goofy calls from these asset management firms to work a BPO outside our geographical location.   I have had to turn down MANY BPO calls, due to the travel time involved and the compensation they wanted to pay me. Just not worth it!

Harley, I'm in AB (Alberta ,Canada) and I would have known the difference but we get have the same problem here, seems lots of folks outdside Canada think everything is close to Toronto. Bill

Hey Bill - If I get a BPO order for Airdrie or Calgary area homes I'll send it your way. You do the same for me? LOL Idaho is a big state, we get requests to do BPO 5 to 8 hours away. Seems like the servicers would find a better system. Cheers.

that would be quite the roadtrip - Maybe you can get a "drive by" for Hawaii, take the family and deduct all the cost from your taxes?
