Spring Staging Tips

Home Stager with Home Staging by SPC, SPC Associates of NY, Inc.

Winter is finally releasing it's frosty grip.  The once frozen ground is slowly thawing under the ever increasing sunshine of longer, warmer days.  Evidence of spring has appeared in flower beds as daffodils and crocuses begin to peak through.  Trees too are waking up as tiny buds fill their branches.  Soon vibrant color will be bursting all around us.  Great for staging and selling houses!

Although there is still a chill in the air, it is fun to hurry the season along by bringing color inside.  Potted plants are a wonderful and popular way to bring life to a space.  One widely used spring bulb is the tulip.  Tulips are easy to grow and come in a variety of colors.  Two of my favorite spring flowers are the hyacinth and the lilac.  The hyacinth, a spring bulb, comes in several colors and gives off a wonderful aroma.  The flowers from the lilac bush also give off a beautiful aromatic scent.  But, when staging a house to sell go with the tulips or silk flowers, not the hyacinth or lilac.  You will want to avoid any strong aromas.  Potential buyers, who are sensitive to strong scents like those given off by some flowers, may be too distracted to enjoy the space you are trying to sell.

Have fun and if you have any great spring staging tips I would love to hear them.
