Almost seven months into my Rainmaker account and I had only posted 3 blogs with the help of my local mortgage professional. I knew it was time to get out of my comfort zone. Enter Dick Greenberg's contest and the Sensei-Grasshopper Group and my ability was put to the test.
Carla Muss-Jacobs - Exclusive Buyers Agent Portland/ Portland Real Estate posted she would blog for food, and mentor one lucky recipient. I had no other choice but to answer the call and offer to buy her Lunch. With over 500 blogs to her credit, Carla Muss-Jacobs was able to zero in on the fear that had blocked me. She suggested I join the Pet Project Group and begin writing something close to my heart. Localism, she suggested, will help you get found and is a good starting point. She walked me through the basics:
-
Header and Page Set up
-
SEO and blogging capture
-
Photos and embedding
-
Content
Yikes! Overload and head swimming, I watched Carla maneuver through copy, paste, attach, CREATE. She made it look so simple. YES, I can do this!
Thanks to Sensei Carlas's inspired guidance, this grasshopper began writing and attempting to incorporate the lessons and tips learned. The result is my post: Lost Our Home Pet Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona
The lessons that Sensei Carla emphasized:
- The importance of back links and linking to authority sources
- KISS - keeping it simple, keeping it tight
- AVOID - the overplaying of keywords but do reiterate the main points
- Utilize Google maps and 1 minute videos for powerful Google juice and Search Engine Optimization.
It is with much respect and admiration that I extend my thanks to Carla Muss-Jacobs
as well as Dick Greenberg for their guidance and inspiration. To all ActiveRain participants, you ROCK!
