Reserve Garden Plot Now for 2008 Growing Season
The Olathe Community Garden Committee is now accepting applications for plots in the community garden for the 2008 growing season. Additional plots are being added, but plots typically fill quickly.
Plots are 10 feet by 22 feet and open to participants of all ages, including first time gardeners. Gardeners are responsible for a $25 fee which covers shared garden tools and resources such as on-site water as well as events at the site. The fee may be split among gardeners if sharing a plot. Participants will be responsible for the maintenance of their plot in accordance with the community garden guidelines for the entire growing season, and must plant their plot by May 4. Additionally, gardeners must agree to participate in monthly work dates, which are held on Saturday mornings, to maintain common areas and equipment.
The garden is a cooperative effort of the City of Olathe and the Central Core Neighborhood.
The Community Garden Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Lone Elm Room of City Hall, 100 E. Santa Fe.
