“Where is Greenville Street Park?” How parks can play an important role in YOUR business.

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Richard Weisser Realty

Greenville Street Park Newnan GAYesterday I got another one of THOSE calls: “Hello, I just got off the Interstate at the Newnan exit and I need to find Greenville Street Park.”

I was more than happy to help the caller find their way. After all, I wrote the post about Greenville Street Park way back in August 2008, and I have been getting calls about it ever since.

But yesterday’s call piqued my curiosity, and after a little checking I discovered that my posts about local, state and national parks actually were among my most viewed web pages.

And yesterday’s call that occurred nearly four years after the fact proves that these kinds of articles are SEO durable and will stand the test of time.

Parks play an important role in any community. A municipality with quality parks can attract those seeking to relocate in a new area. Parks rank right up there with schools, shopping, and medical facilities in attracting newcomers!

When publicizing your area, be sure to feature public parks prominently in your marketing.

It’s a great way to generate interest in both your community and provide an opportunity to you to market your services!

Richard, We've done a few park related posts, but not nearly as many as we could have.  Interestingly, the idea was nagging at me yesterday as I drove past a couple of local parks on the way to get dinner.  They do lead to the occasional call about Frisbee Golf tournaments and Easter Egg Hunt details.

The newest jewel in the Georgia State Park System is Chattahoochee Bend State Park, right here in Coweta County Georgia. It brings first-time visitors every day and all of them are possible future clients for our county! Thanks.

Richard, never thought about including parks. We've got some County and State parks in the area. Thanks for the tip.

Richard, I did a series on Lancaster County parks, too, and I got a better than average response.  I also enjoyed doing them - they provided some of my better photos.

Great post and oh so true. Local posts are great, especially public spaces like parks. I've done several posts on the Piazza, a park in downtown Renton. Also, it's where they hold the Farmers Market and in the summer live music. I get quite a lot of attention writing about the Piazza and many of the events that are held there.

We have several nice parks in our area. They are a true asset to our residents. When I have out of town couples with children, I sometimes stop and let the children run and play for a while. It helps them use up some energy fast.

I did a post ONCE about a new emergency room, it was years ago.  I still get calls with folks asking for directions or for medical advice.  I have since updated the post to boldly state who to actually call in the event of a real emergency.

Enough localism posts and I think we all become a tour guide for somebody looking for contact information regarding how to get somewhere, what hours something is open, the telephone number to reach a business.
