Every now and again you come across a story that is just heart wrenching. So when I found out that one of my local friends and member of the local community was in such dire need for help, I jumped at the chance. Now, I am asking the members of the Active Rain Community to help as well.

Thomas & Annette Gallagher are two of the kindest people in the world. They have stopped at nothing to help others. Tom and Annette are well respected all over the local area for their kindness, support, and compassion. When the ice storm hit here a few years ago everyone was in dire need of help. People were out of power, heat, and water, for a minimum of 1 week, many were out for 4. Tom and Annette, sacrificing power at their own home, moved over to the café (Nennies Café in New Ipswich, NH) to cook hot meals for those in need. When Tom realizeed the school he was working at was lacking in the sports department, he took it upon himself to start up a lacrosse team (currently one of the top high school teams in the state.) When it comes to Tom & Annette, they truly are amazing people. Not once have they ever asked for help-only given it to those in need. Now it is our turn, as a community, and as a whole to help him in return.

Thomas Gallagher was paralyzed from the waist down last December when working a catering job with his wife Annette. Now, he is in hope of returning to work as a local school teacher in Chelmsford, MA. However, his family does not have the money or the ability to buy a handicap accessible vehicle, and when the opportunity to win one arose they took every chance they got. All he needs to win this vehicle is enough votes to beat out 1,000 others! He is currently in the top 5, and needs only a few more to win. This will take under 1 minute, and does not require money, or even a Facebook account.

Thank you so much for  taking the time to read and hopefully vote for him!

Below is the link to sign your name and vote for him, along with a local news interview and article .

This seems like a great way to get the word about voting for Tom in the contest ... and it only takes one minute to cast a vote for Tom.

My older brother Kevin has been in a wheelchair for many years as a result of injuries in an auto accident;  he's lived in a convalescent hospital ever since and he's my hero since he never complains but just takes each day at a time and continues to inspire others.  I'm  happy to vote for Tom and I hope that he wins the van!
