Well my first blog of the New Year so lets jump right in to my favorite subject. For anyone within a days ride of Washington DC you still have plenty of time. In fact you still have plenty of time to put a bus trip together. On January 22 Washington will be hosting the annual RIGHT TO LIFE MARCH.

I was there last year for the first time and let me tell you it was an awesome experience. Of coure the national network news stations don,t cover it and any reports that do make it through are significantly downplayed. I heard one news report that said there were a few thousand people there, which would be accurate if you consider close to 200,000 a few thousand.

Abortions in our country are now hovering aroud the 40,000,000 mark. I live in a county where it is illegal to shoot a bear, illegal to shoot a dear. In our country we have groups to save all sorts of the animal species but we kill over 1,000,000 babies a year.

If you have a problem with this come to Washington on January 22. You won't regret it.

I've been to the march many times...until my knees gave out...It is a prayerful and 'joyful' gathering...I always wonder what effect those 40 million have had on our economy!!! May God have mercy on our country! Thanks, Fran

We haven't been to the Right to Life March, but we have been to Washington D.C. many times and participated in a number of advocacy issues and "marches" for rights and care for persons with HIV/AIDS, persons with MS, and persons who need access to affordable health care (e.g., community health centers that charge for services according to a sliding fee schedule -- I know you have some community health centers in New Jersey). Hugh, You know from past correspondance how I feel about this issue. Of all the issues facing this nation this is the most important as I believe we must stop abortion on demand or we as a nation will fall. Our sin is great and we must repent. I can't attend the rally but will support it from my home town, local church and with my prayers.

It does feel good to be surrounded by people who agree and to have a forum to discuss it. No other issue seems to engender such controversy, hence, most people are loathe to discuss it, which is quite sad. I suspect a lot of people don't want to discuss it, because they don't want to hear any argument against their fundamentally flawed position.

To people who claim to be pro-choice, I respond, "Sure, I'm pro choice - I support a woman's right to CHOOSE not to have unprotected sex, to CHOOSE not to use abortion as birth control and to CHOOSE to be accountable for her actions."

We will be out of town this month, otherwise, we'd be there!
