Cultivate in 2008: Let's burn something!

Got your attention?

I have a tradition that was shared with me by a good friend. Every New Year, make a list of all of the "crap" you don't want to bring in the New Year and on the other side of the paper write down all of the things you DO want in the New Year. Then put it in a fire safe container and burn the piece of paper. Concentrate on the flames and try to imagine all of the things that you want to cultivate in 2008 really happening.

Notice any items on your wish list that don't seem possible as this is an indication of an area where you are blocked. Daily affirmations can help you work through any feelings preventing you from realizing your goals. You deserve a great life and a great 2008!

P.S. This is a great exercise with older children and teenagers. It is a great way to teach them early about setting goals and working with positive affirmations.

Oh my....I'd need a BIG container for burning all my "CRAP" I don't want to carry over LOL! It's a great exercise, my son did this at a team building retreat when he was about 14 and it really made an impression on him.
