Connecticut utilities opened the Request for Proposals to purchase Renewable Energy Credits (REC'S) from renewable energy projects located in Connecticut. Residential wind turbines is a source of renewable power. This small wind turbine can produce up to 20,000 kwh's annual in an optimum location. When a project is awarded a ZREC contract with the utiity company the utility company is committed to purchasing the REC's for 15 years.
This wind turbine is scheduled to be commissioned May 7, 2012. Once the turbine begins to produce power the homeowner begins to save on electricity, produce clean energy and is eligible for a federal tax credit.
