Here's Another Delta, County, Colorado Mark Your Calendar Event. All of you dog lovers will want to check this one out. The Hotchkiss Sheep Dog Trails are going on this weekend...that's May 11,12 and 13, 2012 in lovely Hotchkiss, Colorado. The event is just one block from the downtown, and there will be signs to direct you. Hotchkiss only has one main street, so you won't miss the signs.

It's truly amazing to watch these working dogs do what they do best. Using just a series of whistles, the dogs follow commands from a handler to corral the sheep. The dog is trained, but the sheep aren't.

There will also be many different craft and food vendors on hand. So bring the family, plan to have a good time and watch some truly amazing athletes at work, doing what they love to do. The show starts at 8AM on Friday, and at 7AM on both Saturday and Sunday.

My family used to raise sheep, The only thing I didn't like was market day and sheep-shearing day. The poor things looked so bare and bloody afterward. And, now I have a Border Collie and no sheep!

Debbie, I saw the dogs working the sheep at the National Western Stock Show in Denver last year. I was mesmerized by them for hours. Truly amazing. I hope that you have time to watch for a while.

Hi, Don. I'll get on it. I sprained my ankle pretty badly and that's slowing me down. Everything just takes so much longer when you can't walk well.
