The inaugural Wine Walk will take place on Saturday May 19th starting at the Tufts Archives in Pinehurst. Tickets for the event are $25 per person if purchased in advance or $30 on the day of the event and benefits the Food Bank of central and eastern North Carolina. In keeping with the culture of golf in Pinehurst, there will be 18 holes (or stops) at which you can enjoy wine and food tastings throughout the local shops in the Village of Pinehurst. Shot gun starts are at 4:30 and 6:00 and check ins begin at 4:00. One of the main sponsors of the event is Lowe's food and tickets can be purchased at the store or you can call 910-687-0377 for more information. During the Wine Walk you will have the opportunity to hear live music and also meet the competitors in the horse carriage parade.
The horse carriage parade and Classic in the Pines (a carriage driving competition) is hosted by the Moore County Driving Club. Throughout the weekend spectators can see a variety of driving carriages competing at the mile track behind the Fair Barn in Pinehurst. There will be a parade of the carriages in the competition on Sunday and can be viewed through some of the neighborhoods in Pinehurst and in the Village. The carriages should arrive in the Village at around 10:00 and the competition and parade are free to the public.
Some of the Parade can be seen from the front porch of homes in Pinehurst along St. Andrews Dr. and parts of Old Town in the Village.
