I Love My IPhone 4S!

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

Tonight, I was looking at my I-Phone.  I was in a really long line at Whole Foods but didn't mind because I could check my email.  Then it rang, and I knew who it was.  No, it wasn't the caller ID feature, but the the special ring for my special guy.

When the first car phones came out sometime in the 1980's, I was an early adapter, being one of the first agents in mhy office to get one.  It worked only in the car, and only when the engine was running.  Whenever it rang, I had no idea who might be calling, for there was no caller ID back then.  And it just made calls.  That was all. Oh, and this was way before we know how dangerous distracted driving was.  I'm lucky I didn't die - or kill someone else.

Over the years, mobile phones changed.  Soon they were no longer tethered to the car, and they were almost small enough to fit into a handbag - a big one.  Then they got smaller and really small.  But it took a while for mobile phones to get smart.

So my I-Phone 4S is Mensa smart.  I can phone and text, check email, get onto MRIS to find the showing instructions when I'm standing in front of a house.  While I'm at a listing waiting for a buyer broker to show up with a client, I can read an E-Book or play one of many highly addictive computer games.

Or, I can comment on Active Rain posts when Dick and I take road trips - or write one!  Well, the keyboard is a litte small for my chubby fingers, but it is possible if you have a wee bit of tolerance for typos.

There are so many great gadgets out there, but of all of them, my I-Phone 4S has made the biggest difference for me.

Oh, and my I-Phone 4S is bluetooth available for when I absolutely have to take the call in the car but can't pull over.

I probably won't kill anyone while I'm driving.

This phone is freakin' smart!

And sure, I could live without it.  I did a lot of business over three decades without it.  But living with it is a lot better.

I have had all different kinds of service and phones throughout my life and nothing comes close to the amazing smoothness of the iphone.  I would say almost half of my yearly income comes from the business I do with my iphone.  Does anyone have a hard time believing that?

Hi Pat! I'm ready to trade in my old 3G iPhone for a new one. I've loved my iPhone, but I've about worn it out. Time for a new one!

The technology regarding phones is truly amazing these days. Hard to believe what we had only a few years ago. It's pretty much a computer in your hand with all the apps, ablility to link to your PC, etc.

I remember the old phones that were tied to the car and the big clunky ones that followed.  Many of us have become addicted to our smart phones because they have so many functions and they allow us to do many of the things that previously had to be done in the office.

My first communication device was a Hippobeepamus!  It would beep and I had to stop what I was doing, call home to see who called me, get that number and then call that person!  How fun was that!?

I agree! I had an early 'bag phone,' back when I was in Software Sales. What a concept...I could take it with me on business trips and plug it in to the rental car. Of course it was the size of a large purse, but I was so cool!

I held onto my Blackberry for far longer than it deserved. The minute I got my iPhone 4s, I realized my folly. Yes, my fingers struggle with the touch screen keyboard, but it is a small price to pay.

And it has a great camera for those times when you really must get a photo!

Yep, had one of those big guys too! Remember making our first call from the car and thinking Wow! Now they are our lifelines right? Patiently waiting for the I5.....patiently? Well maybe not!

Pat,  I got the 4s a couple months ago and Love Love Love it.  I can't handle all those icons on my home page so I flipped them to the next couple screens.  It is amazing and Siri is so helpful.  She has saved me on numerous occassions.  Now I am always looking for fun cases for my new friend.  I'm partial to the Kate Spade spotted ones.

Hi Pat - I remember the first car phones--a zippered case with an actual phone handset--it was ridiculous looking! I am always in the market for a new phone and want an iPhone! Lucky you!

Pat, I love Apple phones as well, and the phone part I agree is almost secondary. I go to all the OTHER functions standing in a long line to pass the time away as well.

I have a Blackberry which I used to love.... In early June I'm due for an upgrade- I will certainly take your suggestion to heart and thanks for helping other agents see the value in what you bought and specifically why you love your phone so much.

I'm with you on this one, Pat.  I was just telling my son today that I love my Iphone 4S.  I vacillated between a Droid X, Blackberry Torch and the Iphone until all three had new models.  Then, my younger son got the Iphone.  I was soon to follow and then my older son after me.  I don't know why in the world I took so long.  It is absolutely a little hand-held computer that makes my life soooooo much easier.

There are so many money saving tools that have come out on the iPhone and iPads that I just love and can't figure out what I did before I got them.

Pat, It was good seeing you and Dick on Thursday. Congratulations on your engagement.

If that is your iPhone screen, you have a few apps to update, a few messages and a bunch of calls to deal with.
