CNN Money recently published an article titled "Buying a Home Won't Get Much Cheaper." It cites housing experts who explain that national home prices are still down 34% from 2006, and mortgage rates that are still at historic lows.
Additionally, the volume of foreclosures is expected to decrease, and job growth is expected to continue. One chief economist expects to see across-the-board increases in home prices as early as this summer.
Denver Metro appears to be ahead of the curve, as we have already seen buyer competition result in multiple offers and homes selling for even more than asking price in some cases.
So, the advice to buyers seems to be that if you're looking for a bargain, now is probably your last chance to take advantage of the weakened housing market, because it looks to be on the mend.
