You know this business is so interesting. In any given office you have agents that have the same opportunities with training, tools and systems but have such drastic differences in the level of business they do. One agent may consistently be a top producing agent while another struggles to get any deals. The more I thought about this the more I wanted to know what makes a successful agent successful. Now admittedly I only took a small sample size of successful agents and asked them what they did on a regular basis that they thought helped them remain a top producing agent. I’ll tell you one thing, it’s not rocket science. Here are the top things these agents said they did. Most of them were repeated on each one of their answers.
1) Networking every day, make at least 1 new contact a day
2) Take every call and return (promptly) every call and email (especially clients)
3) Plan daily schedule for the day in advance
4) Begin the day early so the day is not wasted, leaves time for other non-planned activities
5) Learn something new either through reading or webinar
6) Stay Positive and Optimistic
7) Research stats and the market so knowledgeable when speaking with clients
8) Stay positive and optimistic
9) Stay on top of the small details~ that is what people remember
10) Ask people if they need help
As I mentioned, it’s not rocket science but it is critical for an agent to keep some of these basic things in mind. You can’t remain a secret agent and expect to generate any business. People want to do business with people they trust and who know what’s going on in the market. Good luck out there!
I'd love to know if anyone else has anything they'd like to add. What's your secret?
