It doesn't matter whether your doing real estate or some other activity, there will come a time when "stuff happens"... and the idea, which I learned at my NLP training, "there is ONLY feedback - there is NO failure" really puts things into perspective without having to go through a lot of drama.
Another idea that goes hand in hand with this one is...what you did/didn't do is not necessarily wrong or right...a better question would be "Did you get the results you want?"
Now, when you put both of those ideas together, you really have something that is going to help you get past mistakes or so called failures very quickly.
So when "stuff happens" (you feel like you or someone did something wrong)
AND you get a lot of feedback (things don't work or people are upset with you)
SKIP the blame/who's right or wrong part and just ask "Am I/we getting the results I/we want?"
If the answer is "no" then USE THE FEEDBACK to make a better decision next time. It doesn't need to be a failure it is just information to make a course correction to do better in the future.
Feedback (responses to your actions or lack of action) is the stuff that helps us be a better person. It helps us to make changes so we can get the results we really want. Forget the "who's right/wrong" part & just think about what you need to do to get better results. Being "right" can just be someone's opinion in some cases.
So, let's start the New Year on a positive note & use all the FEEDBACK we received in 2007 to make better decisions in 2008 that will get us the results we are aiming for.
