Jeff, pricey homes for 1 level living which is exploding as a real need everywhere...i'm glad i grabbed mine when i could but who wouldn't want Carlsbad & oh by the way, Jeff Dowler representing them.

One thing I have noted over the years, is the difference when I first began selling real estate in 1981.  Back then, the 2 story home was preferred.  It seemed baby boomers and the population in general was younger.  But, as you have stated, the population is getting some age to it, and the single story home is now most wanted.  I also see builders continuing to build an overload of two story homes.  I think it is because they are continuing the push to market more square feet, on a shrinking resource of ground to do so.

Pretty soon I may also be seeking a one-story house--if my kids every decide to extricate themselves.

Absolutely brilliant writing a blog like this.  The perfect keywords to hit the audience.  I've been doing more business with folks who would benefit from a single story home so I'll have to try something like this myself.

Single stories are preferred in our area as well as we have lots of retirees here who have already been there, done that - with the 2 story. :)

Single story, 3 car garage, yards and storage is the preferred retirees abode....nice post here
