How To Create Traffic With Your Blog Post Pictures
Recently Kathy Streib had a featured post that included some great advice on how to fill out the Image Description and Title sections when you add photos to your blog posts. You definitely want to get that extra Google power from your photos.
But did you know you can also do something a bit extra that can get you more bang for your buck with your photos and drive traffic to your other sites? After you fill out the photo's Image Description and Title sections and hit insert, you can take another step to help create traffic.
Click on the photo, now go to the chain Link icon and add a pertinent link.
Readers are often clicking the photos to see if something else comes up. So if you're posting about your listings, why not link the photo to the home's web page? (like we've done with our top right photo)
Posting about a community in general? Link to a custom IDX search for that community. Or link to a previous blog post or a market report. Or a YouTube video you've done.
Writing about homes with pools? Here's another chance to link to another custom IDX search.
Promoting an event? Maybe link to your Facebook Fan Page where you've done a post on local events.
We're not saying go link happy with every photo. Too many outgoing links and you start losing popularity with those Google bots.
But bottom line, there are plenty of options to get some extra mileage out of your photos and create some additional traffic in places you want traffic.
Keep on Blogging,
