I hope I make you proud......

I don't know why, but I thought maybe tomorrow would get easier for me. I guess I was wrong.

I hope I make you proud......

Being raised by a woman who seemed to go out of her way to make sure that I was always taken care of, and that I always knew what was wrong and what was right. That taught me to cherish everyday like it was the last. I am mom, I promise!!! I am who I am because of you. I owe you, and thank you so much.

I hope I make you proud......

I can't put into words what you mean to me. Even though you are not on this earth with me, I know you are with me. It is so amazing to me. All kinds of people tell me that I am such an inspiration to them. That I am the positive person that the lean on when times are hard. That I make so much sense and help them by talking. I love to do that......I got that from you.

I hope I make you proud....

You showed me that it is not all about what you have, but what you can offer to others. That your wealth is derived from the serving for the benefit of other people. As I remember you this weekend, and especially tomorrow, I am humbled by the man that I have become because of you! I hope I make you proud!

Because when I hear others talk about you and others wish they had the chance to meet you...I am SO proud of you!

I love you and miss you more than you will ever know! RIP mom!

While my mother is still with us, she lives 2500 miles from me and I don't call her as much as I should. I had similar thoughts about my mother today as well, Brandon. My dad died in 1966, and my mother in 1975, before I became a Realtor in 1981, and long before the internet and so many changes we see in the world today. I tried to imagine what it would have been like to have had Mom return just for a few hours at breakfast this morning, and to be able to tell her, of my 30 years in real estate, as well as a stint of several years working for a software development company. I doubt she would have understood much of it, because of the technology absent at the time of her death. But, I hope she would be proud anyway!

Thank you for that. She was an amazing woman. Some would call her different or of another mind set. I believe she was way ahead of her time. There is a MAJOR paradigm shift in mindset going on right now, and her metaphysical and holistic thought process, is no longer out of left field. So, funny, I didn't even realize it was featured.
