Since real estate is local, I have a local blogroll on my two other blogs. Columbus Ohio is not be the epicenter of real estate blogging, according to Brian Brady, Phoenix is.
One of the recommendations from Brian's Arizona Real Estate Roundtable of bloggers was:
"The Solution; linking to local blogs for your "farm" area. Note that we concluded you should link to local blogs, NOT local real estate blogs."
Below is the local blogroll from Discover Columbus (the original Columbus Best Blog.)
Columbus Blogs
Around the Oval
Bitchin' in the Kitchen with Rosie
Boys Wear Pants Men Wear Trousers
Buckeye Banter
Buckeye Commentary
Columbus Best Blog
Columbus Blue Jackets
Columbus Retro Metro
Dead Body Guy
Done Waiting
Ferret Press
Everyday is Like Wednesday
Innerart CharlieBits
It's a Paul World
Jason's Page
Men of the Scarlet and Gray
Restaurant Widow
I also have a short Ohio blogroll... more food, Ohio murder mystery authors and a great Ohio blog. I took off some of the Columbus links here ... food and football (Buckeye football) are the most likely suspects when it comes to local blogs. Columbus Retro Metro is real estate, but he is not a REALTOR®...Brian's "Note that we concluded you should link to local blogs, NOT local real estate blogs. " I think if it is good content, I might... I have a link to my companies Real Estate Blog.......In St. Paul, Bonnie has a link to Teresa on her Real Estate Snippets blog...and vice versa.
I have avoided political blogs but they sure get a lot of traffic. Carole Cohen and I played with some political issues on our blogs before the election this fall. The visitors I got from those blogs were better behaved than I expected.
There are other local blogs out there, I need to work on my Columbus blogroll more. I was lucky there was a site dedicated to Columbus blogs when I first started my blog. That site come over run with spam since. I find local blogs via Technorati and Google Blog search now mostly. I keep thinking I have found all the local blogs and I will find one with an archive going back to.....
I have tried to comment on most of these blogs. Unfortunately on some of the topics (sports comes to mind) I can not comment intelligently... My Discover Columbus blog has a category about Columbus blogs and I have written about the blogs on my blogroll. I often blogged about Columbus blogs on Saturday or Sunday... bloggers read blogs on weekends accoding to my stats.
Food, sports, politics, entertainment seem to be the majority of the topics... and cartoons. Comics? Columbus is kind of cartoony.
