I missed your original blog. I'm so glad I didn't miss this!

Lania - Bingo..."even car dealers stage their vehicles by detailing them...etc" You are so right. I use that analogy often. It really works well with the men! Thanks for commenting.
Dane - Glad you stopped by. Thanks for commenting.
Terry - I agree. While I love staging Vacant homes...there is something about transforming an Occupied Home that makes you smile.
Elaine - Thanks. I usually use red when I can but I thought the blue would go well with the brown panelling which was everywhere! It really helped to update the space.
Julia - Yes..the panelling was a challenge. It was really in every room but the kitchen which had wallpaper of course. After I staged the family room I was wishing the owner would have let be bring in furniture for all the rooms!! I was scared at first but it turned out well. Bottom line - It sold quickly. :)
Yvonne - Thank you very much. It was tough with the home sellers budget but it turned out well. I am honored, feel free to share all my pictures. Stage it Forward!
Nicola - Thank you. I was thrilled that I was able to help.
Carole - Thank you. I was lucky to have such a cooperative home seller. He listened to almost everything I told him. :)
Janice - YOU are my hero with this one! I have been saying since forever that almost every homeowner committed to selling their property will: make necessary repairs, stage it appropriately, price it appropriately and SELL IT!
Thanks for sharing the follow up. If ever there was a before and after staging post deserving of "feature" this would be it, given the skittishness of many in the real estate market.
Jackie
Kathy - Thanks for noticing. The rooms all looked much bigger. The power of staging! The driveway looks great. I was so happy the owner spent the money on it!
Jackie- Awwww. I appreciate your kind words. Slowly but surely homeowner's are starting to "catch on." Thank you.
Yvonne - Welcome Girlfriend!
WOW great job and great news for you and your client. The rooms look great and it worked with the paneling. These homes can be tough since the ceilings are low and the walls seem to close in on you, but you transformed the space and it worked...Driveway..excellent call
Phyllis Pafumi
Awesome job, Janice! What a great transformation!
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures.
Kathy
Very nice! I hope your business is booming right now you do a great job!
your friend in Charlottesville
Phyllis - Thank you NJ Girlfriend! It was a challenge to do this property. I am sure you can imagine how much I wanted the seller to paint. But I am glad he did the driveway. The best part was working with such a sweet client. He had just lost his mother and it was hard for him to part with everything. He was great!
Maureen- WOW! Thank you so much. As I look back at my old staging jobs I can see that I have improved and grown. Thank you for the compliment.
Kathy- Awwww shucks! I really am humbled. It is so nice to wake up in the morning, sign on to AR and get a warm and fuzzy feeling from my colleagues and friends!! :) Thank you.
Charles- Thank you. Business is picking up. I am trying to grow slowly (which kills my husband) so that the quality of my staging doesn't suffer. Thanks for stopping by....your friend in Murrieta
Latonia - Thank you. I did have reservations about staging a mobile home. I believe every property needs to be staged. I am glad I made a believer out of you!
You lightened it & updated the colors well, Janice. Yea on the quick sale!
Kathy
You have inspired me beyond words. I will never look at another place, object, or space that someone will occupy for more than a 5-minute time frame and not think Staging.
Thank you for your post.
Tarenia
Kathleen - "Mobile Home Cool!" I love it. You are too funny! The palm leaf print has been used many times. It has brought much luck. Thanks for commenting. Happy New Year to you too!
Kathy - Thanks! We love a quick sale don't we? That's the goal...stage it and get it SOLD!
Kristina - I agree...staging works in all price ranges. Thanks for commenting.
Tarenia - Awww I am glad I could help! I doubted myself at first. But I did have a vision and the client was very helpful. A win - win!
Marla - Yes "Maximize the positive while minimizing the negatives" What panelling? :) See you at the SIF Roundtable.
Abby - Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate your kind words. I love your work as well.
Marci - Thanks for stopping by. Yes...Win-Win-Win...don't ya' just love that! Trailers in CA are very popular. This one is in a 55 and better community next to a golf course.
Mary Lou - Thank you. Red is my favorite accent color, but I needed to follow what was currently in the house and there was a lot of BLUE. I do love a blue & brown combo. It really helped to update this trailer. The driveway was a must! I am glad the home owner was on board.
Deena - I agree. Home owners can get overwhelmed with a long To-Do list. If they prioritize they can tackle the most important items and still achieve their goal...which is to SELL their house!
Kathleen - Thanks. It really did turn out better then I expected. I still wonder what it would look like painted. Oh well...you can't have it all! :)
Janice, Way to go - that looks awesome. I would initially have been tempted to go with that paneling and think I had to be locked into something "lodgy" but you made it look really up to date and modern with your choice of colors and furnishings - great job!
Good post - because we are going to sell a camper/trailer and I immediately thought of staging it -- you know, mugs for hot cocoa on the table, a snuggly throw across the bed in the back -- looks like I should go for it staging works no matter what the size and price of the home. You did a great job! -Sheri
Sheri - Thanks! I thought about a more "lodgy" look too....but the home was soooo dark I thought it needed to "wake up" so I opted for a more contemporary look. We continued the color scheme of blue and brown where ever we could. This helped the home appear larger.
Go stage that camper/trailer and then blog about it! I would love to see the pic's!
Erica - Thanks, I really appreciate your comments.
Regarding your question, The owner had passed away and her son ended up keeping (we kept the living room furniture and added pillows and updated accessories), selling (estate sale) or donating (Salvation Army) the "stuff."
Karen - Thank you. The owners son was thrilled and now wants me to drive to his property (1 hour away) to "stage to live in."
I hope you find another whole market for staging mobiles in your business! :)
Hi Janis - Thanks for the compliment. Nice name by the way! ;)
At first I was a little undecided about staging a mobile home. Now I am a firm believer that any property could benefit from home staging.
Thanks for sharing your picture. Totally helps to distract from all the panelling. Very cute.
Elise - Wow! This was a nice comment to wake up to this morning. I too love this blog. I just recently destaged this property and was sad to see it "undressed!" :)
I can feel your passion for home staging in your comment. I am glad you are networking with Phyllis Pafumi . She is a fantastic home stager and a good person. You have what it takes...a lot of passion, hard work and the need to help others. Keep strong and work hard. Get your website up and running. Before you know it you won't have a second to breath! Watch out for what you wish for! :)
Good luck with your newest listing! This looks like a great home at a competitive price.
