New Neighborhood Alert- Valtera View

We all know that at the moment, not many homes are being constructed. The economy, the lack of buyers, gas prices, the price of supplies, and the fact that the U.S. dollar doesn’t go as far as it used to are all reasons for the drought of new homes in the market. It seems like almost all builders are on a forced vacation at the moment, except for Richmond American Homes. Today I went to go visit a property I own in Lake Stevens, WA and while on the drive I noticed a sign for new construction. I was a little intrigued, I haven’t seen a new home let alone a new neighborhood in that area for a few years now. I was with my daughter, Tatiana, and we decided to go take a quick walk through one of the homes.

The first thing we both noticed as I parked in front of the show home was how large the house was. It has to be at least 2500 sq. ft. We walked in through the side door into a spacious garage big enough for a car and a little officer that the realtor was sitting in. We talked to the realtor for a little while, she was both sociable and intelligent, I almost wanted to buy the home before I’d even stepped into it. As I walked into the door that connected the garage to the main floor was how open the floor plan was. As soon as I stepped in I saw a dining room, a small bathroom tucked into the corner next to the door. To the right was a very spacious office with crown molding.

We then walked towards the kitchen, the place that is one of the biggest deciding factors of whether or not you buy the house. It was large with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. I also liked the color tones of the cherry-ish wood. Right next to the kitchen was a very wide-open living area. The dining room, living room, and kitchen created a very flowy floor plan that would allow a dad to watch his child in the living room or dining room while cooking a nice meal. After being thoroughly impressed by the downstairs I headed to the stairs, which is my one and only problem with the house. I’ve always hated staircases that were boxed in by walls on both sides. They seem narrower and steeper, which is how they seemed in the house. It would have been impossible for both my daughter and I to be side-by-side on the stair case which is the size I’d prefer, but it is rare thing to walk through an entire house and only have a problem with a stair case.

When we got up the stairs there was a very large den-type room right in front of the stair case. It would be perfect for a play room for the kids, a multi-media room,      or even one of those rooms that you put all of your extra stuff in, the tread mill, the big awkward sized desk your aunt bought you, and the gaudy sofa your mother-in-law bought as a wedding present would all fit in that room. To the left of that room you have the laundry area, three bedrooms, a master bedroom, and a bathroom. The master bedroom… Words can’t express the excellency of that master bedroom, but I am going to try. When you walked into the master bedroom you came into a sitting area with a two-sided fireplace right in the middle. On the other side of that two-sided fireplace was a space large enough for a dresser and a king-sized bed. It was magnificent. The only space that looked better than that master bedroom was the master bath, in between the master bath and the master bedroom was a little hallway that had a walk-in closet on the right. The bathroom had a huge corner tub, a shower with great rustic looking tiles, and his/her counters. Overall this house was beautiful, large, but a little pricey. It’s in a great area; Lake Stevens is a great place to raise a family. If you are considering relocating or want to start a family, this neighborhood would be a great place to start. If you don’t believe me I’d recommend going to see it, I think you’ll be pretty amazed.

It is nice to hear that new houses are going up again in your neck of the woods.
