And Then The Day Begins

How do we start the day?  We get up in the morning, perform the essential physical and mental tasks and create the ground work for taking on the world.  For some of us this activity can take longer than for others.   The ritual starts with a shower and all those other things and then in to the office, wherever that might be.  Sounds simple until a few hurdles present themselves in the process.   I call her GADGET.  No, not those toys or playthings we buy to entertain ourselves or something to amuse us because it's different, but GADGET.

I thought when the kids left the house I was over waiting in line for the shower, the wash basin, the bathroom and the seat at the breakfast table.  The Gadget stopped that feeling all together when she arrived on scene 11 years ago.   I get up in the morning, ready to face the day, walk over to the shower and guess whose sitting in the doorway blocking the way and refusing to move.  Yup, Gadget.  The look I get is " I'm ready for my shower and I want it a little warmer and a little less intense this morning".  Yes, she's a cat and she takes a morning shower.  Once finished, she shakes like a dog to get the water off and heads for the kitchen for breakfast where she usually finds me with my first cup of coffee.  It takes 10 seconds of chatter from her before I can't stand it any longer and have to get her squared away with breakfast.  I head to the office with my second cup of coffee, check my email, sign on to AR and create my "Daily Intentions".  Then back to the bathroom to make those finishing touches on my face, teeth and other things.  Gadget is back again occupying the wash basin.

That's how I start my day.  Gadget........ I wouldn't have a world without her.  I don't think I have a choice.

I think all of us have our choices in the morning.  Gadget is my wake up.  When the alarm goes off, she does too.  What would any of us do without them little critters.

A cat that takes a shower!  Do you also have a dog that meows?  This is too funny!  Post a picture of her taking a shower - unless she is bashful!

I'll make sure she has her bikini on before I take her picture in the shower.  She may be a cat but she's very modest.

You're right.  She looks like your PUNKY with those brown highlights.  She also looks like her sister (same litter). Bonkers use to be the first one to my desk in the morning claiming she had first rights.  "Don't even think about it" she use to say. "Double trouble"  I would always say.

Ken- That is just too funny!! A cat that likes to shower. I have two cats myself and they run at the sound of water! It's amazing how pets each have their very own personality! What would we do without them?! -Nicole

YOu would think water is the last thing a cat wants.  I had a cat in Hawaii.  Her name was Mahana.  We had a swimming pool.  WHy in Hawaii? I have no idea.  I think my kids hated sand between their toes.  Anyway Mahana was known for walking on water.  I figured that out when I bumped her one day while walking around the pool.  She fell in, sort of.  She literally walked on water.  Good thing I moved out of her way while she cat paddled, pumping everthing she had. She looked like those lizards in Costa Rica that actually walk on water.  Literally the cat shredder with her claws.  No mam, I never thought cats liked water until Gadget and it sounds like your cats.

Thanks for signing on to my blog.  Yes, Gadget is the apple of my eye and my wake up call every morning.  What can I do without her?  She's my alarm clock, my pillow and my electric purrrrr blanket every night.  Welcome to Active Rain, I think you will love it and it will also have the benefit of attracting clients (what a novel idea)

I got another blog you might be interested in http://activerain.com/blogs/kenspencer/tags/hiking%20hawaii that will get you excited about our annual (2008) team meeting in Hawaii.  In as much as some of us like the idea, I think our team leader may not agree.  Check it out.
