Have Red Kool-Aide On Your Carpet!

Today I was at a lost of how to get a great big red stain out of a carpet in a rental apartment. I first used shout and then mineral spirits and then my commercial carpet shampooer. Guess what, the big red spot was still there. I called the renter who had just moved out and he told me he thought it was either kool-aide or hawaiian punch.

I got on Google and came up with the solution I want to share here. Get some Dawn dishwashing solution and mix with water then dab it on the spot liberally and then let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then take a clean white t-shirt and lay it over the spot and then press down with a hot iron and move the iron around a little to keep from burning the t-shirt.

After you check the spot then apply a little more of the soapy water and then pick a clean area of the t-shirt and start again. My t-shirt is now a color of red and white but the spot is almost completely gone. Thank-you Google and person who provided that remedy. I am sure this post will now be indexed if someone types in red kool-aide on your carpet.

That's a great tip Mike. I might have opeted to go the route of hiring a carpet cleaning compamy before knowing this and disihing out a bit of money.

Thanks,

Eranda

Great tip.  I need to remember this one.  It seams every carpet gets red kool-aide on it.
