Standards of Conduct: Realtor Do’s and Dont's When Showing...

 As stated in the Code of Ethics:

REALTORS® should dedicate themselves, and for which they should be diligent in preparing themselves. REALTORS®, therefore, are zealous to maintain and improve the standards of their calling and share with their fellow REALTORS® a common responsibility for its integrity and honor.

 

Based on the Code of Ethics- Standards and Practice, here are some Realtor Do’s and Don’ts when showing a property.

 

 

 

              Do               Do Not                                                                                                                       

Do- Return appointment calls promptly

Do Not-  Show without an appointment

Do- Follow all showing instructions

Do Not- Contact seller directly unless authorized

Do- Arrive on time and leave business card

Do Not- Neglect to call or cancel when late or unable to show               

Do- Wait if another agent is showing

Do Not- Give out lockbox code to customers

Do- Turn off all lights that were on upon arrival

Do Not- Forget to leave thermostat at arrival setting

Do- Become familiar with the property before showing

Do Not- Criticize the property in front of occupant

Do- Qualify buyer before showing

Do Not- Discuss price in front of seller

Do- Guide buyer throughout the house

Do Not- Allow children to wander freely in property

Do- Report anything unusual to listing agent

Do Not- Leave any doors or windows unlocked

Do- Check all doors even if you didn’t use them

Do Not- Forget to return keys to lockbox
