Operation Homefront: serving our troops and their families

A news article caught my attention this morning. It's entitled: Housing glut could help war wounded.

It describes the plight of wounded American soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan -- how many servicemembers are facing homelessness and serious financial hardships.

It led me to an organization that is doing something to help them: Operation Homefront.  I visited the website to learn more about it.  I learned that it is seeking service providers who are willing to donate or discount their services.

Become a service providerYou can download an application to be a service provider by clicking on the tab 'You Can Help', then clicking: 'Become a Service Provider'. You can also submit an application online.

I offered to provide pro bono notary services.  And as you can see, there are other ways to support our troops and their families.

I imagine that there are many types of real estate services they can use.

It is a really tough situation and one that does not get enough press. It is a shame on us regardless of what we think of the war in Iraq. Good to see people pitching in . Thnaks for the popst

Sounds like a great campaign.  It is nice to see people taking action.  I would like to see the NAR get involved.  Strenght in numbers.  Many people, me being one, feel that this is an unnecessary war but it is because of our troops volunteering to be there that we are allowed to have such opinions.  Someone should do something to give back to them.
