To Postlet or Post it...

You've seen the real estate ad flyers around the internet right? You may even be using them... If not here's what I'm talking about:

Postlet

The one great thing about Postlets is that they are fully syndicated with the following platforms:

syndication

Which I have gotten leads from, just by having my listings syndicated instantaneously; their great for that... And they are easy to post in classified ads and blogs all over the internet... But are you really getting the results that you want by using them as a posting tool? After doing a few tests I have been getting a lot better results, from my posts, with ads like these:

ads

And honestly, I can see why... When you I look at a colored Postlet, sometimes I really have to squint and scan to find all of the vital information. Simple ads, like the one above are very easily readable. I used to use ePropertysites (also great for synidcation) and Postlets all over the classified web... I was getting a few leads here and there from the ads but not as many as I thought I would based on the number of users on those classified ad sites... So, I decided to try something different... I started writing my own ads, which frankly does not take any more time than it does to use those auto-posting tools... And now I am getting a lot more quality leads from the ads that I am posting.

Syndications are key....one point, one click and multiple publishes.  I've heard great stuff about postlets!

Edward - Yeah, I use them too. Just not exclusively and I don't use them in classified ads anymore. I have noticed that by using postlets, my listings show up in things like HGTV, Zillow, and Trulia and they are automatically linked to my account. But I find them a little hard to read compared to something simple with a white background and just enough information to pique someones interest and get them to my site. Thank you for your perspective!

Larry - Yes, online syndication is absolutely vital for our listings. The syndication built into Postlets is why I still add my listings to the platform. One click and the listings land in a lot of places. Postlets also allows you to embed them anywhere that accepts HTML. I used to do that a lot but they didn't really produce as many leads as old fashioned hand typed classified ads. Still, Postlets are a great venue for synidcation! Thanks!

Hannah, I am glad that you are getting great results from them! I just have better luck driving traffic to my main listing/blog site and to the few single property sites that I have with manually written ads. However, I have saved the html into a notepad file that I copy and paste into CL, BackPage, AR, and Ebay Classifieds so that the links are right and the picture is where I want it so that speeds up the process for me of swapping out the content. Thank you!

Christopher, I agree with you that simple classified ads with one photo and a few imprtant details seem to generate more inquiries than my fancier posts (like postlets) when doing classifieds, and I only use craigslist, so far. Please share some other good but lesser known classified sites we might try.

Elva, There are a handful of other venues that I use. Some of them are classified ads sites and some of them are blogs that allow you to embed HTML, which is just as effective for displaying an ad with hand typed content, here are a few of them:

Classifiedads.com

Freeclassifieds.com

mymonsterads.com

Manta.com

merchantcircle.com

Roost.com

hgtv.com

There are others but these are the main ones that I use. I am going to do a few more posts on the subject. I am also going to share where I submit my XML & RSS feeds for free in another post. of the list above, I love classifiedads.com. it brings me a lot of traffic, is super simple to post (easier than CL), allows full HTML coding, and is completely free. Manta, Merchantcircle, Roost, and HGTV do have premium offerings but they also have free accounts, which are what I use, and the free accounts do pull decent traffic. Hope this helps! Thank You!!
