I love this set of easy to understand directions on how to insert copyright on your photos. I want to compare this pic monkey product to ipiccy and see which one I prefer. I need to check out collages on these two products plus Picasa, too!

How to Add Copyright to Your Photos Using PicMonkey

I just received a comment from an old post that I had written about how to put copyright on photos using Picnik. As we all know, the Picnik is over. BUT don't worry! Adding copyright is super easy using PicMonkey.  Here's how:

Step 1:   Go to www.Picmonkey.com (It is FREE and NO sign up is necessary.) Woo Hoo!

Step 2:    Click on the "Edit Your Photo' box as seen in the photo right.

Step 3:
On the PicMonkey toolbar, click on the Letter P.

Step 4:    In the PicMonkey text box, hold down your ALT key and type 0169 to get the © symbol...

and then type your name.

Step 5:   Select your font from the menu directly below the PicMonkey text box.

Step 6:    Click on ADD

The text will appear on the photo.  Just put your cursor on top of the text until you see the up/down arrow appear. When it appears, left click and drag the size of the text down to the size that you desire.

Put the cursor over the text again and move it around until you see the 4 way arrow (move). When you have the move sign, left click and drag the text to where you would like it to appear on the photo. You can also turn the text sideways by putting the cursor above the center of the text where the small circle is. Turn arrows will appear.

In this photo I also added a drop shadow frame just by clicking on the little box with a frame around it, and selecting drop shadow. There are many frame to chose from. Play with it - OR - Skip this if you do not want a frame.

Step 7:

On the bottom of the basic edits menu, click on Save.  When the save box pops up, name your photo, and if you would like, you can change the dimensions.

Step 8:    Click on Save  Photo

When the next box pops up, make sure that the file folder displayed is the one where you want it to be saved.

TADA! Your photo is now features your Copyright and it is ready for you to use!

Very nicely done. I've been lamenting the demise of Picnik. If you know of any other website that has some of the features as Picknik, please write a post about it. Thanks.
