Looking for a way to put a little music into your life this summer? Well, then Glenview is the place for you.
Every Wednesday, from June 13 through August 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., you can "Jam Your Little Heart Out" at Bearfoot in the Park Free Outdoor Concerts, sponsored by the Glenview Park District, and performed at Park Center on 2400 Chestnut Avenue in Glenview.
Bring your picnic, soft drinks (sorry, no alcohol allowed), lawn chairs or blanket for sitting, and enjoy these great entertainers throughout the summer:
June 13 - Glenview Concert Band directed by Bandmaster Ken Bartosz - You'll hear a selection of contemporary favorites, marches, light classics and show tunes.
June 20 - The Flat Cats - These cats are anything but flat and will thrill you with old and new music, from jazz and blues to contemporary and timeless hits.
June 27 - The Juke Box Band - Just like a human juke box, this band plays any pop tune, from classic rock to blues, from country to 50s, and from 60s to jazz. They conduct audience sing-along, take audience requests and will have fans participating in group dances as well.
July 11 - Jin and Tonic Band - Featuring two female vocalists and one male vocalist, their forte is country music.
July 18 - Libido Funk Circus - Originating in 1996, this band still plays disco hits of the 70s, along with dance and rock from the 60s through today.
July 25 - Shy Violet - This Chicago-based show band serves up classic dance and pop favorites from the 70s, 80s, and 90s through today. They have two female vocalists and a powerful rhythm section to keep your ears humming.
August 1 - AC-Rock - An a cappella quartet that performs classic rock 'n roll from the 50s through the 80s.
August 8 - Johnny Russler and the Beachbum Band - This great group performs songs from Jimmy Buffet, Dick Dale, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and even Paul Simon.
