Last week, it was fun catching up with one of my customer's and seeing the amazing progress they made on their home. I originally met them at a home show maybe about 3 years ago. At that point in time, we did a custom made area rug for their family room combining two colors of a tone-on-tone carpet (see picture).
I showed them several other more expensive carpets as well...one for the living room and one for the bedroom...but I didn't hear from them again...and figured I never would.
Well lucky me...two years later...and thanks to Active Rain, my customers now had the money to spend on their floors (it seemed that they had a major flood in the basement...and they were able to use the insurance money and redirect it to other portions of the home. It was 2 yrs later, and they lost my contact info, and the wife changed jobs, so the email address I had was outdated (so they weren't getting my monthly newsletters.
All they could remember was "Debbie"...so they googled "Debbie Flooring"...and believe it or not, I popped up (Thank you Active Rain). They called my cell phone on a Sunday night and of course I answered and boy am I glad I did.
A couple of months later, we refinished hardwood their first floor (I chose a color that worked with their kitchen cabinets and was comlementary to their green paint color and area rug). We then did a green area rug for the livng room and cream/gold the master bedroom carpet (and I wish I had a picture of their ceiling which had gold leaf in it.
While I was there, we planned things out for their next set of renovations (which took place about 9 months later). They found some beautiful tiles with a super cool border (wish I could take credit for it...but all I get credit for is the entryway and the idea of adding in the blue inserts. They loved this idea (and I also have a cool idea for them for the backsplash). But check out their floors. Aren't they cool?
My customers then got new banisters (I love those, too). From there, we refinished the steps, portions of the 2nd floor hallway and the guest room.
The next step was to select a carpet runner that incorporated all the blue and tan colors. This was a major runner...2 flights of steps and a long hallway. I can't wait to go back there next week and get pictures. (they finished on Friday night at 9:30pm).
I can't wait to see the runner and post pictures
