Most of you know the USO - or have even benefited from this organisation. Stars touring to the troops via the USO all over the world has probably become famous and popular across generations. One of those stars is Gary Sinise also known as Lt. Dan (Forrest Gump). He visited Fort Carson, Colorado Springs on May 19th, to entertain military families and raise funds and awareness.
The Gary Sinise Foundation was officially formed in 2010, and is dedicated to serving the Nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. e serves as the national spokesperson for The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial. Traveling the country, he helped raise funds to build a permanent memorial to honor America’s 3 million living disabled military veterans, which broke ground in 2010.
I didn't even know that he was playing but friends of ours told us and invited us to come with the whole family. It was great entertainment, great music and Gary is a great guy - very personable and believes in what he does. Listen to what he had to say and stop by his foundations for support.
As a (retired) military family member, I would like to say that I very much appreciate what he and other stars do. Thank you for your support.
