Motivational Power Quote

Don’t Waste Your Time Living in the Past

“Feeling sorry for yourself, and your present condition,

Is not only a waste of energy but the

worst habit you could possibly have.”

Dale Carnegie 1888 – 1955, author, self-help expert,

As I see it . . . . . . .

Don’t waste your time living in the past

Things will not always turn out the way you want them to and in reality that’s life.

You have to pick the pieces the best you can and move on.

To carry the baggage of the past with you will waste your time, your resources and your energy without and redeeming value to you or your future.

Carrying the past with you corrupts your thinking and zaps your attitude.

Drop the baggage of the past like a bad habit because that’s exactly what it is. What happen in your past that has produced negative results needs to stay in the past and not part of your life today.

Don’t waste your time in living in the past.  Invest in your future and your future success of what can be and drop your old negative habits and tomorrow will become a brighter day.

Hi Lou.  This is a good quote for today.  I have to say I myself have done this in the past.  It really will drain the life out of you if you allow it.

It's not a bad idea to check in with the past, but focusing on the future is where we all need to be.

Hi Lou, it's a good idea to check all baggage at the door. No one likes a "depressing " person or someone

that dwells on the past and "poor me"

You need to leave the  past , as the future holds promise of a better tomorrow.

Hi Lou, I just love this post. I have a close relative that holds such anger for things that happened over 30 years ago. She knows that it's only hurting her..as those she's so angry with are going on with their lives and being happy...but yet I think sometimes she thrives on it. You can sit around and blame the past...or you can choose to live in the present and take charge of your life and move forward.

So true.  The past is the past...learn by it but never dwell on it. Every day is a chance to change the past!
