Have You Ever Seen Anything Like This? Outlets Everywhere!

We just had to pass these pictures along from an apartment unit that we just destaged today. This was a newly constructed one bedroom basement apartment that we staged for one of our clients. The builder/owner wanted to make sure there were plenty of outlets throughout. I can honestly say I've never seen this many in a whole house, let alone one room.

Bathroom Outlets

The bathroom vanity alone has 14 outlets!

Bedroom Outlets

The small bedroom has 48 outlets!

We thought this was pretty wild and had to share it!

Thanks David, its almost like he was trying to make a pattern on the walls with outlet tiles.  It could be worse, I have been in plenty of places with far too few outlets.

David -- I wonder if it's so many outlets that it exceeds the number allowed by the city?  How odd!

Can't even imagine what the builder was thinking when he put that many outlets in...............crazy.

The builder must be short on outlets in his/her own home - why else would someone put that many outlets in a home? One thing I do find myself wishing for is that more builders would place outlets in the floors in living rooms (smile).

I wonder if the builder came and dropped whole box of outlets in the bedroom and said to his apprentice to install, so the guy thought that the whole box is for the bedroom/bathroom ONLY. LOL

Bob ~ I would always prefer to many than not enough. How many older homes have only one or two outlets in a room? I'm sure there is a happy medium however!

Maureen ~ It's a good question. Can you imagine plugging something into each one???

Roger ~ It was good intention to ensure that there was a plug wherever someone may need it.

Kathy ~ OMG - more floor outlets would be wonderful. How many times do we want to put the couch in the middle of a living room flanked with lamps and are unable to do it!

Anna ~ No, every other room has just as many! =)

My husband with his electrical background tended to overplace outlets too, but nothing like this.  Spray paint those babies!

I've seen stuff like this from electrical guys. They also want me to point this out extensively in the listing brochure - like someone EVER bought a house because of the outlets.  I actually think the place looks unprofessional for some reason - like a contractor was practicing how to put outlets every 2 feet.

At least you didn't have to have an extension cord or a dangling cord showing when you did night stands in the bedroom!  Wow that is a bit much!

David - This is truly "shocking"!!!  The outlets in the bathroom don't look code to me...

That is very odd, David!  At least you probably didn't need to use any extention cords on this staging project!
