The 2012 West Virginia Dandelion Festival is scheduled for Memorial Weekend in White Sulphur Springs, WV. The Festival will kick off on Thursday, May 24th with an art show and wine and cheese reception and will continue through Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th.
In celebration and appreciation for the determination of the dandelion.
The gutsy little flower fights its way through velvety lawns,
dodges mowers, and weed killers, and against all odds,
reigns supreme as it blankets our village each spring.
The weekend celebration will include a variety of entertainment - live music,opening ceremony and crowning of WV Dandelion Queen, car show, fishing derby, wrestling exhibition, carriage rides, pet contest, magic show, male dandy legs contest; as well as food, arts and crafts. Bring the whole family, there is something for everyone, and of course celebrations and a parade to honor America’s Veterans.
