ViVa Vienna

If you live near Tysons Corner, McLean, or Vienna, you'll want to join in a special Memorial Day celebration from May 26th through the 28th in historic Vienna, Virginia!

In a family-friendly, community oriented atmosphere, approximately 50,000 guests are expected to gather in patriotic spirit for this huge celebration. Viva Vienna is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Vienna and will act as one of their key fundraising events to provide financial support to continue charitable, education, and community work during 2013.

The setting for this celebration will be the historic streets and sites of Vienna. Church Street will be closed to traffic from Lawyers Road to Mill Street on Sunday and Monday to allow space for booths.

Over 300 vendors will be participating! Along with many amusement rides, artisans and retail vendors will sell their wares. Professional groups and community organizations will be represented, as well as political groups and candidates.

Local vendors will offer a variety of fabulous foods, including everyone's summer favorites: pizza, barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, and Italian sausage. Of course, no festival would be complete without popcorn, kettle corn, and funnel cakes. Sweet treats such as shaved ice, cotton candy, candy apples, soft and homemade ice cream are a must. For those with more exotic tastes, Thai, Lebanese, and Chilean cuisine will be available.

The Handcrafters Association will have a booth, the Freeman House will be selling memorabilia, and the Church Street merchants will be open for business. There will be various local business promotions, new car displays, and vacation opportunities. Fraternal and social organizations will be represented, and the Northern VA Model Railroaders will have special displays for visitors.

This is one of the best summer events in the Tysons Corner,Vienna, and McLean area, and one that you will not want to miss. Three days of food, rides, and fun for everyone. 100% of the proceeds will go to charitable, community, and humanitarian organizations. Admission is free! Come to Church Street NW, Vienna. Saturday 10am-10pm; Sunday 10am-10pm; Monday 10am-6pm.

Jeff, thanks for sharing the events in Vienna.  That's just across the mountain from me normally.  Ironically, I'm in FL instead of home in VA, but it looks like a great time.

For me...the food and the people are very rewarding experiences....Eating a good crispy bread sausage sandwich with onions and peppers in the outdoors chased by a snow cone and perhaps some kettle corn while navigating through the crowds is America up close and very personal...After some traveling around, it would be time for some BBQ....mm good post
