Would you be excited to get this job? Part One

Would you be excited to be offered this home to stage?

Excited would not be how I would describe my feelings when I did the consult here.  However, considering that staging has been close to DEAD in my area for almost three years, I decided that another challenge was perhaps what I needed.

It's a long story and one that I'd like to share but can't do that right now, so please stay tuned.  I will post the results soon.

Happy to be back staging and playing in the rain!

Hi Ginger ~ There are certainly a lot of challenges in this home, from the point of view of making it appealing to potential buyers!  It's hard to see the home's features due to all of the furniture.  I know with your amazing staging talent that it will be a great transformation and one that I'm looking forward to!

(And, it's SO good to see you back here in the Rain again!!)

Depends.  The attitude of the seller would greatly influence my pleasure at getting this job, LOL!  I see the potential and would love the chance to transform this home.  If the seller isn't willing to make the needed changes, it would just be too frustrating.

Good for you, Ginger! Its the challenging ones that can be the most rewarding and creative, especially if budget dictates that you can only use their things. Now, how to position that TV tray table? :)

I'm sure the seller and Realtor are happy to have you (as are we at AR)!

Ginger, welcome back to the Rain! I have to agree with others that this looks like an elderly client and I hope they or their family will be great to work with. Good luck!

Hi Ginger,

Welcome back! As to the job. Things have been slow here as well, at least for the occupied properties. For me it would depend on how willing the home owners are to declutter and change the furniture, paint etc. That would definitely affect my excitement factor.

Sorry that it has taken so long for me to get back here.  My AR routine which was part of my daily routine went away and I'm finding it very difficult to get back, but I do sincerely appreciate everyone's ongoing support!

Maureen,  thanks to your prompting here we go with just a couple of photos.  (Which most have already seen on Facebook).  Your ongoing support means the world to me!!

Sharon Parisi, here's a couple.  Sorry it took so long for me to get back here.

Valerie, I wished that too but that wasn't the case but I couldn't let that keep me from making the best of this situation.  Thanks for commenting.

Sharon Tara, IF I had been able to really see this house at the consult (but I couldn't for all of their stuff) I probably wouldn't have taken this job.  Realtor is paying for EVERYTHING so I did as much as I could.

Kathy, a major challenge since when my staging day arrived the house was really dirty.  The agent and her husband are great and spent the majority of 3 days cleaning, painting and helping me.  Thank you for the support and encouragement!

Janice, the REA said that this home made her think of a convalescent home...SAD!!  Did the best that I could with a difficult situation.

Sally, certainly doesn't look like the homes from your area, does it....but it's pretty typical here. Thanks for your kind words of support!

Linda, I should have really been back sooner but struggling with the AR routine which use to be my daily addiction.  Strange how those things can change so quickly.  Thank you!

Kim Gaston, didn't mean to miss your comment.  Thanks and you're so right.   The seller is not pleased at all, the realtor certainly is...no surprise...I took away their home.
