When buyers are looking at homes, if the master bedroom is Vacant it's difficult for most people to make an emotional connection with this room. You might ask "why is this important?" As professional home stagers in Portland Oregon, we know that the master bedroom is a room that should convey "this is a peaceful retreat, a place where you can escape from the pressures of your day, and relax."
This week we staged several vacant homes and we found that all of the master bedrooms benefited from staging. Here are some Before & After photos of Master Bedrooms in Portland, Oregon.
This bedroom shows as dated & cold
Staging added pizzazz, color & energy to this condo Master Bedroom ~ now buyers can imagine living here.
This new Master Bedroom is large but empty
Staging added warmth and a sense of purpose ... and highlights the wonderful view
In this home the Master Bedroom was crowded
Simple staging made the room more spacious and highlights the wood floors & vaulted ceiling

Maureen - What wonderful examples of how staging a Master Bedroom can pay off ten-fold. The last 'before' photo looks like a bunk house or a dorm room! With your staging expertise, the room now looks open and luxurious and much more fitting as the Master Bedroom.

Hi Debbie ~ Glad you like the transformations, thanks!
Hi Valerie ~ Mirrors were once popular when the condo was built in 1980 ... not so much anymore!!
Hi John ~ Thanks! Hope you're having a wonderful holiday!
Hi Sally ~ That last bedroom was so overcrowded and the "before" online photo did not do the room justice. A queen bed easily fit in the proper spot and now the room looks much larger.

Maureen, all of the examples are very chic and high end. Of course the first one is my favorite. When empty it does scream 1980s, furnished it has glamorous look. Who wouldn't want this house?

Hi Anna ~ I'd like it, too! Buyers make decisions based on emotion, and master bedrooms can have a strong influence on that. Thanks for your time to comment :-)

Hi Janet ~ Nice to see you again ... we've missed your smiling face here in the Rain!! Thanks for your comment ... making that room "work" was my main goal! The downstairs living area has mirrors too ... another upcoming blog.

Since I didn't see the mirrored room before the furniture was delivered, I had no idea just how unappealing that room was before you staged it. What a transformation! It is chic and very upscale now. Great job!
Hi Maureen, I really like the last image the best. Definitely adds some warmth to the room. Buyers need to see themselves living in a room and how they would best set up their furniture. These photos show buyers exactly how they can do that plus still have lots of space left over. Great work!

Hi Michelle ~ Sometimes people just don't realize the best furniture placement, and yet for those of us who work at it every day, it's quite an easy formula. This room was quite large, but you'd never have known that from the "before" photo. Thanks for stopping by to comment!
