Next Round of Playoffs...Jax Jags vs NE Pats

I know my AR friends Danny,David and Jim will no doubt have a more extensive post on the next round of playoffs....but....I am all set for the Jacksonville Jaguars(11-5, 1-0 in playoffs) vs The New England Patriots(16-0)at Gillette Stadium, 8 p.m. in Foxborough Massachusetts.

Once again this is a pretty good test for the undefeated Patriots...as I am quite sure a few will be on the Jags bandwagon waiting for the Pats to fall.

Jacksonville is one of the best teams in the league and they have been, over the last half of the season, leading the league in scoring, yards per game, defensive yards per game, third down offense, time of possession, pass defense. They can run the ball. They can throw the ball. They don't turn the ball over.They play good defense.They are a sound team and they are well coached.

The teams have not met this season.

The most recent meeting between the teams was last Dec. 24, when the Patriots traveled to Jacksonville and earned a 24-21 victory that clinched the AFC East title.

In the wild-card round of the 2005 playoffs, the Patriots hosted the Jaguars and won 28-3.

I think they will have to wait awhile longer,as although the Jags will be a test...they no doubt will fall to the mighty Pats.

Guy I think the Pats win and win big! They are going to let everyone know they are still the team to beat. Jags can run the ball, what happens when they fall behind by two scores, can they still stay with the run?

BLR....I'm doing a bit of statistical analysis on west coast teams.....even though Eddy will kill me for this: The Raiders have won 19 games in the last 5 seasons since their Super Bowl year....if the Pats run the table they'll do it in one. WOW!!!

....and i think the Jags would LOVE the Pats to run right at Spicer to "show him" for "talking"...

But seriously, all he did was act like a man and own up to a quote he made 4 months earlier .....I know the country is Brady-gaga, but what CAN one say about that team??? Trick question! You don't pull your lips off the butt long enough to talk!

Since the Super Bowl loss in 2002 the Faders have been 4-12, 5-11, 4-12, 2-14 and 4-12.....that equals 19-61 with four head coaches in 5 years. Commitment to excellence my backside.

As for the Raiders...has the coach been fired yet?LOL No stability in Oakland....but it can be turned around....they need a QB though

This team just plain ole gets it done. They know when to adjust and keeping the Jags to 85 yards rushing just proves how good they are.

Hats off to Garrad as this Jags team will only improve.

The Jags weren't too bad on offense except for dropping the ball at the one yard line when you had a shot to tie it up at 21 and dropping the ball in the endzone that would have pulled within a TD..... Unfortunately, in the playoffs against an undefeated team you can't make those errors. You know who doesn't drop those passes??? Harrison and Wayne----I'm just saying!

And I LOVEDel Rio (he's on my list of 5 coaches I'd want my team to have if they fired the current)....BUT what the heck took so long to apply pressure??? Sacked Brady on play one and then the only other time they touched him was on a late hit. They sat back and let him pick them apart all night. And he didn't even have to try!!! Don't think he thre the ball more than 10 yards 5 times all night....just hit the man in the soft middle over and over.....I understand wanting to limit the "big play" but they'll also take 8 or 9 on every play and methodically kill you if that's how you want to play....jeez!

Oh, and the thing about beating teams is: It's difficult to beat a team the third time, if you've beaten them twice.....and the loser learns more in a loss than the winner.....I don't know if that-or any- rule applies to New England this year.

Well it looks like a rematch of Week 2 is coming to Foxborough...as it looks like the Colts are about to take the gas pipe....looks like a new champ will be crowned.

Let's see what San Diego has for New England....

We beat SD last yr. in SD and this year we are a much better team. We won in week 2 and we will win next week. 18-0 next week.

You have to believe in this team...
