The Inalienble Rights that are all around us and that we all enjoy today are often taken for granted.

We have had them for so long, that many have become complacent.

Many don't realize that when they make a statement in public, they don't risk the chance of being punished by by their Government, like some other Countries, citizens do.

Our freedoms haven't come easy.

The Men & Women, who have served in our Armed Forces, and gave their all, are the the ones that are to be remembered today.

Once known as "Decoration Day", this day is here for remembrance, of those who have died for this Country. They left this Earth with their own stories and legacies. They left Family members behind as well as other Loved ones.

None of them sought Stardom. They had their calling. They loved their Country, in each of their own ways.

Some, too, have been admonished for their roles, but they gave their lives too to preserve our way of life.

They don't want to be Movie Stars, they don't want to be heroes.

They do need to be acknowledged, though.

Thanks to all of the Men and Women who have gone before us and made the sacrifices that we rarely even think about.

I do, especially on this solemn day.

Bobbie ~ Thanks, and thank you for stopping by.

John ~ I agree. "Happy" just doesn't fit. Then there are the ones that speak of Veterans who have not died. Sorry, that day is on November 11th... I only hope one day those who cannot discern between the two, do. Thanks for visiting.

Terrie ~ Thank you. Typically, I find, the ones that say "Happy" Memorial Day are the ones who have never served or they have never had someone close serve and they don't really understand the significance or the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Those that do, shine. Thanks for stopping by.
