New Best Friends and Deep Staging

By
Home Stager with Key Elements Inc. Home Staging & Interiors
Oregon Realtor Todd Clarke and I have never met, but through AR he has shown me the way to a fabulous new marketing vehicle I think is my new best friend...or is Todd my new best friend for showing it to me? Hmmmm...Anyway, I want to share with you. Perhaps you are already familiar with what can be done with Photobucket Slideshows (have you seen Todd's fabulous show of old timey barns on his profile page?) So if you already know Photobucket, then hopefully you’d be curious about the staging we do here at Key Elements. Here’s our newest marketing tool….
The house you see here is currently on the market for $539,000.00 and contains an all new collection of furniture, plus we consulted on just about everything there was to decide on for this project…exterior color, interior color, flooring, carpet, tile, granite, lighting, deck material, room addition plans and more! It was a complete fixer, so I know you know what the “before” shots looked like! Kitchens and baths were gutted and reconfigured and all the wallpaper had to go! We call this our Complete Staging Concept, or sometimes I will call it Deep Staging for the fun of coining a term. So anyway I am working on a number of presentations with Photobucket and am so thrilled with the many uses of this web based photo service, of which there are more than I know. Check it out at www.photobucket.com. NOTES ADDED ON 1/13/08 Here is a sidenote I believe will be of interest... All of those familiar with the project who were shown the slideshow, including the contractor, realtor and me, had no issues with the speed of the show. We were used to seeing those images. Familiars. But almost all of those below new to the project wanted more time to soak up the details. Doesn't this illustrate why home sellers need stagers? Homesellers' familiarity with their homes creates the need for stagers to help focus the buyer so they too can soak up the details!

Kate, Kathy, Marci, Abby,

I sure am glad ya'll want want a closer look. At first blush, it appears that there is no speed control for length of slide. I will keep working on it though!

UPDATE: Photobucket tutorial says there is no way to slow down a slide show at this time. Ouch...looks like I want to shop around!

Abby maybe Sllde.com would offer something. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Paula, have you looked at Real Estate Shows.  It may be more limited but it includes great music and I agree with above that your show moves too fast.  I couldn't FEEL the house and your highlights.  Hope you can change it to your advantage.

Paula ~ Your staging -- and the complete concept -- look fantastic, but like the others it moved way too fast for me.  I'd want my viewers to be able to really "feel" the concepts I was highlighting here.  Great work!

How beautiful - without looking like a showhouse, where it's all about the decor, not the house!  Thanks for sharing, Paula!  Julie

Paula - Your work is outstanding!  It really is too bad those fades can't be slowed down, I do like that concept.

I love the staging, your work is very good. I have to agree with some of the comments, can you slow it down or have the photos not overlap so much ? Whatever, it is a very good marketing tool.

Absolutely beautiful colors, textures-I love your work! Very modern presentation.  Did have to watch it a couple of times because of the rapid pace.

Awesome job-Interesting slide show, dont know about the fast zoom in though. If that could be modified it would be perfect.

Very nice I have been putting my photos on Kodakgallery and don't know if they do the same effect but will check it out. Currently, I do virtual tours for my vacants with a partner at no charge and put them on my listings but love to do this too the more visuals the better. thank you for sharing. Kym

Amazing transformation! Would have loved to see the before!

Question, would you mind sharing your technique for the stairway? Assuming this is leading to a basement. Looking for a nice, inexpensive fix for a current project! If you would not mind sharing the still photo. Would be ever so grateful!

Thanks Paula! Certain your project will not be around for long!

Thanks for all the kind comments...I really appreciate the need for a slower slide show (SEE UPDATE TO THE ORIGINAL BLOG!!!) The only way to slow it down is to use something else...like Real Estate Shows, or Slide.com as suggested above.

Ginger, the steps are done in Forbo Marmoleum, a Green and Sustainable option, but not an inexpensive material, (approx. $4.33 per square foot ). Lets see if I can get the still photo to attach here.

These rooms are gorgeous.  You have done a beautiful job here. If people only knew how much money they lose when they "save" money by not staging the home.

The home is fabulous, and I absolutely LOVE the slideshow!  That is really special!  I do agree with the comments though that it would be nice to be able to slow it down a little.  On some slideshows I have seen, it is possible to click on the photo and freeze it.  Can this be done with Photobucket, do you know?
