The Other Side of Tropical Storm Beryl
There has been plenty of news about Tropical Storm Beryl in the last couple of days. Sure, it cancelled the Jazz Festival and the Memorial Day events at our Eagle Harbor neighborhood, but there is another side - a good side - to Tropical Storm Beryl.
The good news is that we really needed rain. We needed rain to drown out the wildfires that have been flaring up this Spring.
Just Saturday morning, Frank and I actually got in our car and drove to the street behind us because the smoke was so thick we were convinced one of the houses was on fire. When we arrived, we realized it was just smoke blowing in from a fire somewhere else.
So even though Beryl cancelled our Memorial Day plans, it did bring some much-needed rain and hoepfully quenched those pesky wildfires in our area once and for all.
