Toxic Dump - Cheap Rent. Everyone and everything has a price. And sometimes we sell our soul to the devil for just pennies on the dollar.

It's taken me a number of years to clearly identify toxic people upon first meet. Sometimes, they elude you with their sweet charm and knifing debonair. Eventually, a leopard always shows its spots. Maya Angelou offers some great advice about such folks...

'When people reveal themselves to you... believe them the first time!'

If you're letting a negative/toxic person rent space in your head, life or business... Raise the rent and kick them out! Life is short. I don't know about you, but I haven't acquired a taste for drama.

If you're allowing someone to continue to dump toxic waste on your doorstep... it's a choice. The only person holding a gun to your head is You... just say No! The buck dump stops here ;)))

Hi Mel, You are one smart cookie for sure (that happens to enjoy a good cup of java with it). You are SOOOO right. Most times we can see this type of person right off...but often push that aside until it's up in your face and everyone elses. Sometimes it's a slow ooze and it takes a while to see the negativy in a person. Either way, there are just so many positive people and forces to surround oneself with...so you bet, kick them right out!

This is exactly what I needed to hear today, the total naked truth! I have a toxic person in my office that I made the mistake of working with on two deals. Those leopard spots came through so strongly I do believe they turned neon! Lesson learned and moving on (not from the office, but definitely from ever working with or near her again)!

I agree this should totally be featured! It can be easy to get lulled into thinking maybe those toxic people making us crazy will improve over time - but I've never actually seen that happen. If they make me crazy from the start, it is a pretty good indication that I need to run the other direction, right now and fast!!

Mel, I think there are always lots of negative people willing to take up residence with you and during harder economic times I think they just crawl out of the woodwork. It's not always easy avoiding them, but as you say, "...it's a choice...". I think I've managed to remove those from my life who are the voice doom and gloom...the for rent sign is definitely down!
