Hello Mona,
It's really cool to see history first hand.
I was there once back in 1995 when I did a consulting job for a manufactuerer in Guin, Alabama.
I did the whole tourist thing for about six months.
Have a great day in Sylva.
Best, Clint McKie
Clint, how fortunate to have 6 months to do the tourist thing. Montgomery surprised me but then the weather was good and I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. Enjoy NM today.
mona- overcast days are the best for taking photos! not having to fight the sun makes it a lot easier : )
Mona, Very cool pictures. These show so much history. I love the Wrigley's ad on the side of the building. Looks like it has been there for a lifetime.
Good morning Mona. I like overcast days too. The pictures are marvelous and I like the composition. Enjoy the day.
Margie, overcast is good but rain...not so much! I lucked out on that day.
Pat, Mobile would probably be really nice too. I don't think I've ever been there.
Belinda, I thought the Wrigley's sign was cool too. I just caught it out of the corner of my eye from a couple of blocks away. It was worth the walk.
Sheila, Picmonkey. You can do it too!
Mona, Those are some nice photos! Have a great afternoon!, I agree the Wrigley's sign is pretty cool!
Hi Tony and Darcy, the whole downtown area was way cool. I would have loved to spend more time there.
I always love the history you find painted (advertised) on the sides of old city buildings. Americana, marketing, history ... all rolled into one. As always, your pictures tell wonderful stories ...
Gene
Mona,
It's wonderful to portray the buildings that way. Otherwise, we'd have to imagine them from history books.
DeeDee, aren't you glad civic associations exist to preserve this history too?
