Sorry for your loss!  It is nice having the added "territory" that social media provides us, to expand our friendships far and wide.  I find that on-line friends can be very supportive.

Connie  It is at times like these that we realize our virtual friends do care about us - beautifully and you have our sympathy

Connie, I have never had the pleasure of meeting anyone here. With the exception of you when we ran into each other at Lake Providence. But I have had the opportunity to connect with other AR members on the phone.

I do feel connected to them in the same way I am connected with people I come in contact with here. Just the other day, while sharing an AR story I said, "I have a friend in FL...". My point is that agent is a friend. The fact that we've never met of no consequence.

Praying for peace for you during this time.

Connie, I am so sad to hear about your Father, please accept my sincere condolences.  It certainly is not easy to lose someone in life that is so dear to you and it sounds as though you were very close. I know you know he will always be here in Spirit for you and the teachings that he gave to you will come at the oddest of times.  But they will come and the love will flow throughout your being.  Active Rain certainly is a wonderful community of caring individuals and it truly shows at times like these.  Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm glad that you feel supported by your AR and Facebook communities.  That's what we're here for.

Connie- I remember your post.  You did an excellent job of putting into words the strength of the ActiveRain community.  I think that we look at your smiling face and that's what we see.  We can sometimes forget that the person behind the smile may be aching.  You know that you have a lot of support here. 

Connie, I have been thinking about you quite a bit lately.  I knew that you were going through a rough patch, and I am like you, rather shy.  I didn't want to burden you with notes.  But, someday, I just want to sit down with you, and join you in that cup of coffee or tea, and chat.  God bless you, dear.
