This was just to cute not to reblog, andrea shares this little story that came out of the mouths of babes. just have to love the things that children come out with. Be on alert for the next tomato warning. Stay fresh!
Last night we had some pretty good storms in the tri-state area. I was out with a friend when the bad weather blew in, we raced to her house to wait it out. I called my house and warned my daughter to close the windows, unplug everything, and told her they had issued a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado warning. She was at the house with her 4 year old son.
When my husband and I arrived back home, my grandson was jumping up and down, bursting at the seams.
"Dean, Pop, Dean, Pop!!!" (He has always called me Dean, which is far better in my opinion than Grandma, I just don't know why Dean?)
"There is a TOMATO WARNING"
He just couldn't stop jumping up and down. Then he proceeded to explain to us how the TOMATO WARNING works. You see, the TOMATO comes, it sounds like a train. Then it sucks the whole house up, just like a straw.
"Just listen for the train, Dean. Then you will see the TOMATO STORM!"
We all managed to escape any damage, no flying tomatoes, no red juice stains on the house, only a few broken branches in the yard. We didn't even lose power.
Hey, I love tomatoes, probably more than the next guy/gal. I think they are fruits of the gods. I could eat fresh tomatoes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks! But boy was I glad that we didn't have a full blown TOMATO STORM last night, despite the ominous warnings issued by my little weatherman!
And I am very happy that all my tomato plants are intact, no damage at all, despite the dreaded TOMATO WARNINGS last night!
