Rockville Announces Finalists in City Manager Search
Community invited to meet finalists on June 2

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 23, 2012 - The Mayor and Council are pleased to announced three finalists in the search for Rockville's next city manager. They are:

  • Paul Folkers, Assistant City Manager of Gainesville, Florida
  • Barbara Burns Matthews, City Manager of Takoma Park, Maryland
  • Thomas Moton, Assistant City Manager and current Acting City Manager of Greenville, North Carolina

The Rockville community is invited to meet the finalists from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 at the Rockville Senior Center, located at 1150 Carnation Drive in Rockville. Community members will have the opportunity to meet the finalists one on one to discuss Rockville's future. Those in attendance will be asked to provide feedback, which will be used by the Mayor and Council as they make their final decision on who will be Rockville's next city manager.

The three finalists were narrowed from a group of seven candidates originally interviewed by the Rockville Mayor and Council from a pool of 61 applicants.

Jennifer Kimball was appointed as the Acting City Manager when Scott Ullery retired from the post in December, 2011.
