Owensboro-Daviess County Habitat for Humanity is taking homeowner applications for the entire month of June. HFH is a program where homeowners work to help construct their own home and then are given an interest free, 20 year loan from Habitat. Most homeowners make a payment of $350 - $450 per month. We have one homeowner this year who will be paying her home off! If you know of someone who does not have the income or good credit to qualify for bank financing, this is a great program. Families with children can pay what they would normally pay for rent toward owning their own home and have a yard for their kids to play in! (Fellow Realtors – we are always looking for land to build on as well. Since we are non-profit, if sellers sell to us at a discount (or give us the land), we can usually give them a tax write off for the difference!!!
